Where our dates come from, what our tools assume and how corrections are handled.

Independent NZ planning guide · Dates reviewed 18 October 2026

Primary sources

National and regional date tables use New Zealand Government and Employment New Zealand. School dates use the Ministry of Education. Source links and a review date appear on calendar pages.

Dates and assumptions

We keep actual dates separate from observed weekdays. Regional tables follow published observance, with notes where local practice varies. School start windows and end-of-year deadlines remain ranges rather than invented universal dates.

Original planning content

Our worked examples and calculators use the published date data to explain planning choices. They do not determine employment entitlements or replace school notices. Guides are written for this site; we do not present our site as an official source.

Corrections and updates

Dates were reviewed on 18 October 2026. Future source changes are not automatically imported. When a correction is verified, we update the underlying data and affected pages. See contact and corrections.

Commercial independence

Advertising is not currently enabled. Future ads will be labelled and will not change the holiday data. Paid placements and affiliate links, if introduced, will be disclosed where they appear.
